Crime Scene

HFSC’s Crime Scene Unit or Evidence Collection Division identifies, documents, collects and interprets evidence, usually from the sites of major crimes such as homicides, sexual assaults and aggravated robberies. On occasion, CSU investigators will assist with property crimes. Crime scene investigators collect evidence at the location, including weapons, firearms and related objects, biological matter, fingerprints and trace evidence. The investigators take pictures and video and use sketches to document and reconstruct crime scenes. HFSC’s Crime Scene Unit also uses 3-D imaging technology to reconstruct scenes.
